Job Description: PRA is a small company in Marietta, GA, with a highly motivated and innovative staff consisting of physicists, mathematicians, and electrical engineers. The company was established to develop solutions to today's problems in the defense and commercial sectors and has been succesful due to its highly capable and flexible staff. At PRA, we focus on research, design, and development of algorithms and devices for improving signal propagation performance and capabilities for RF, infrared, and optical sensors. We are looking for an RF Technician to perform the following duties:
  • Fabricate new RF, MMW, analog, and digital designs for transmitter, receiver, exciter, and filter concepts
  • Develop test procedures and conduct tests to validate designs
  • Coordinate, establish, and maintain engineering lab, test equipment, tools, electronic components, and associated software
  • Generate creative ideas and demonstrate superior level of professional competence and knowledge
  • Work with minimal supervision on lab work and component and system testing
  • Exceptional hardware skills
  • Develop Electronic Lab standards and set Lab work guidelines
  • Coordinate with Program Manager/Engineering Lead and schedule Lab assignments
  • Demonstrate work ethic through on-time attendance and display loyalty, honesty, trustworthiness, dependability, reliability, initiative, self-responsibility, and positive attitude
  • Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess approximately 15 years relevant work experience in new product development, integration, and test of advanced RF and MMW technologies. This experience should include, but is not limited to, hands on knowledge of: power amplifiers, transmitters, receivers, and frequency control technologies. The position requirements are:
  • Associate's degree in Applied Sciences or equivalent in Electronics Technology field.
  • 10+ years of progressive and relevant technical experience including technical breadth and depth as a new product development or RF R&D technician.
  • Ability to coordinate Lab activities of subordinate employees.
  • Accomplishments marked by initiative and creativity in state-of-the-art developments in area of proficiency.
  • Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical instructions (schematic diagrams, test procedures, test equipment manuals, or data sheets and familiar with MIL-STD is a plus).
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management or engineering or regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data in the Lab, establish facts and draw valid conclusions after troubleshooting non-functional RF/microwave, analog and digital circuits.
  • Proficient in MSOffice; Computer Aided Design (CAD) and RF and system simulation tools such as ADS, OrCad, PSpice, etc; RF communications; RF circuit layout; and other testing and simulation software.
  • U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
