Senior RF Systems Engineer

Propagation Research Associates, Inc., (PRA) is looking for an individual to join an exciting and innovative small business with opportunities for growth and career development. We're located in Marietta, GA, and were established to develop solutions to today's problems in the defense and commercial sectors. At PRA, we focus on research, design, and development of algorithms and devices for improving RF interferometry.

Job Description:

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to lead teams in independent research and development, design, and fabrication of novel radar/RF technologies. This will include the following technical, management, and business development duties:

  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to design teams in radar or RF systems research and development

  • Lead multidiscipline design teams in fabrication/code, integration, and test activities

  • Communicate the challenges and benefits of competing approaches to engineering, scientific, and technical audiences

  • Perform trade-off analyses; perform modeling, simulation, and analysis of alternatives that evaluate system effectiveness, utility, and performance

  • Translate objectives into architectural concepts, system quantitative and functional requirements, and develop system specifications and external interfaces

  • Make sound decisions based on engineering judgment

  • Operate independently

  • Manage the direction of research projects and prototype development

  • Provide technical oversight for subcontractors/suppliers

  • Grow the PRA customer base through proactive identification of problems and solutions

  • Interact with customers to develop new program areas and develop system objectives and constraints

  • Lead proposal efforts to support new business development

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess at least 10 years' relevant work experience in radar and RF systems with recent experience in business development and project management. The position requirements are:

  • M.S. in electrical engineering with strong mathematical background

  • A minimum of 10 years' relevant experience

  • Demonstrated hands-on technical expertise with RF analog electronics and test equipment

  • Relevant RF systems design experience

  • Significant programming experience

  • Interpersonal communications skills and ability to work in a team environment

  • Proposal development experience

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
